The "President" shall perform all the duties incident to the office, those required to be performed by the Bylaws, and those properly delegated by the Board.

The President shall also serve as the chairman of the Board and preside over all meetings of the Members, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee.

The President shall be a registered architect or is actively pursuing their architectural license. Full AXP hours and at least two of the NCARB examinations must be completed to sit for the position at the time of your term.

The President shall serve for one term of two years and may serve one additional term of two years if voted by a two-thirds (2/3) majority of the voting membership. The President may serve no more than two (2) consecutive terms of two (2) years each.

The President shall become the Immediate Past President upon completion of their presidency.

The President can only serve on one executive boards/leading a committee for any other related professional organizations (ie; Architecture, engineering, construction, real estate, etc.)

Note this is a four-year commitment to the leadership and continuity of SoFlo NOMA, including two years leading the Chapter, and two years supporting and mentoring you successor.

The “First Vice President” shall have such powers and perform such duties as the Board may from time to time prescribe. In the absence of the President, the First Vice President shall be designated by the Board to perform the duties of the President, and when so acting, shall have all the powers of, and shall be subject to all restrictions upon the President.

The First Vice President shall serve for one term of two years and may serve one additional term of two years if voted by a two-thirds (2/3) majority of the voting membership. The First Vice President may serve no more than two (2) consecutive terms of two (2) years each.

The President-Elect shall assume all the powers and the duties of the President in the absence, disability, refusal, or failure of the President to perform such duties.

The President-Elect can only serve on one executive boards/leading a committee for any other related professional organizations (ie; Architecture, engineering, construction, real estate etc.)

Note this is a six-year commitment to the leadership and continuity of SoFlo NOMA, including two years preparing to lead, two years leading the Chapter, and two years supporting and mentoring you successor.

The "Secretary" shall act as the secretary of each meeting of the Members, the Board, to keep, or cause to be kept, minutes of such meetings and shall sign minutes of these meetings and other instruments requiring the signature of the Secretary.

The Secretary shall perform the duties required to be performed by law, the Bylaws, and other duties properly assigned by the President or the Board.

The Secretary may delegate their duties; provided, however, that the Secretary shall still be responsible for overseeing such delegated duties and may not delegate the signing of any minutes or official reports required by the Bylaws or applicable law.

Note this is a two year commitment to the leadership and continuity of SoFlo NOMA.

The role of a “Director” is to provide informed governance and strategic oversight, uphold accountability, and contribute thought leadership that advances the organization’s long-term relevance and growth.

Directors play a critical role in policy development, ensuring alignment between programs, financial stewardship, and overarching organizational objectives. They also serve as ambassadors of the organization, strengthening relationships with members, industry partners, and the broader community while promoting its value and impact.

In addition, Directors may lead or support committees and initiatives that reinforce and advance the organization’s core pillars.

Note this is a two year commitment to the leadership and continuity of SoFlo NOMA.

The University Liaisons coordinate and facilitate communication and act as intermediaries between SoFlo NOMA and the SoFlo NOMA universities & colleges regarding student issues.

The University Liaisons work closely with Student Liaisons to develop and implement programs that support and assist the student chapters. The University Liaisons shall preferably be alumni of a NOMAS organization, but this is not mandatory.

Note this is a two year commitment to the leadership and continuity of SoFlo NOMA.
